IVECO BUS supplied 51 Iveco Daily school buses to Lithuania

IVECO BUS enlarging its minibus fleet in Lithuania. Before the beginning of the school year Iveco supplied 51 yellow Iveco Daily buses to the country.

IVECO BUS enlarging its minibus fleet in Lithuania; the fleet serves local school children. Before the beginning of the school year Iveco supplied 51 yellow Iveco Daily buses to the country. After that a total of 270 Iveco Daily school buses will be operating in Lithuania.

Company JSC “Transmitto”, the official dealer of brands IVECO and IVECO BUS in Lithuania, won a tender announced by Lithuania’s Ministry of Education for new buses. Regional local authorities in Lithuania took over the buses in front of the Cathedral Square in Vilnius with President Dalia Grybauskaitė, Minister of Education and Science Jurgita Petrauskienė and other representatives of the state administration and schools in attendance.

In this way the school year can start with 51 new, safety, economical and environmentally friendly school buses. The yellow buses will transport students to primary and high schools as well as handicapped children to their educational institutions. They will also carry children on their trips to see historical monuments and on educational trips and various other cultural and sports events.

IVECO BUS Daily school buses belong to the M2 class, have a lower step function and a special light warning system which informs the driver about children leaving the bus. They are equipped with 19 safety seats for transportation of school children. Buses are equipped with alco-lock device that do not allows driver to start engine if breath sample contains alcohol particles. The Iveco Daily school buses comply with all safety and quality criteria of the European Union and at the same time are adjusted to the conditions of the roads in Lithuania. Modern, powerful, economical and environment friendly 3.0 L engine Euro 6C has 150 horsepower and a torque of 350 Nm.

As part of the program to improve conditions in schools Lithuania’s Ministry of Education buys new yellow buses for the regions every year. Thanks to this, children living in remote villages can get to school easily and quickly. Since 2000 Lithuania’s Ministry of Education and Science has bought and has been delivered a total of 900 school buses. A total of 270 Iveco Daily school buses operate on the roads in Lithuania.
